![]() Tickets for two were $32 online including fee/tax so although pricier than a typical theater, it’s still a nicer experience, especially for a date night. For generations, many families locally and from the South Central Texas region gathered to watch movies when it served as a drive-in theater. I think it’s worth giving AMC Dine In 8 a chance. It had four incoming traffic lanes and boasted a roof top garden area over the concession stand. At the time it was the largest drive-in in Texas accomodating 1,500 cars. It was constructed at a cost of over 250,000. As of last night 3 of the garage entries including 2 on Capitol were not available to access so you may need to research which entry is open. The Town & Country Drive-In opened on June 21, 1956. If you want to watch a summer blockbuster opening night without buying advance more. this place deserves a sliding rule when it comes to movie theaters. ![]() It was clear many of the frequent customers had been lost since the ownership change since we would normally wait in a line of 10 or so guests. a Google search and saw that they had set up an outdoor screen for drive-in movies. We visited at 9:30 Saturday night and there was no one in line at the bar or concession stand and it was easy to find good seats online. There were a ton of different flavor options at the self serve soda machine, like ginger lime and cherry vanilla Diet Coke. My typically overpriced soda ($5.69 for a small) ended up being free because of points on my AMC Stubs account. Unlike the last visit, an ice bucket was provided upon request at the bar with the bottle of wine ordered. We found free street parking but I asked the ticket taker if they validate garage parking and he said they now do that. ![]() We were pleasantly surprised at changes made. I had sworn off this theater since the change to AMC but we ended up giving it another shot only because of a preferred showtime to see Molly’s Game, which was excellent.
